Tessa Sutton is certified to teach art (K-12) and social studies in U.S. and world history (5-12). She is a visual artist working primarily in painting and drawing and has an MFA from California College of the Arts and a BA in history from Grinnell College. In December 2019, she completed the University of Iowa, College of Education’s Teacher Education Program. Originally from Des Moines, IA, she recently returned to the Midwest after a long roost in Brooklyn and San Francisco where she worked for five years at art colleges in higher education administration. In addition to exhibiting in America and Europe, she has taught students of all ages in a museum, community college, a women’s correctional facility, public school programs and privately.
